Quotes by Sebastian Cole, Sand Dollar: A Story of Undying Love

Find Me

“If someday you should ever think of me and miss me, know in your heart that I’d want you to find me once again. No matter how distant in time or space… FIND ME.”

The Lesson Learned

“The lesson learned: Never take your loved ones for granted. And if you’re ever lucky enough to find that one person in life who makes you love more than any other person could possibly make you love, you treat every day together as if it were your last. You cherish every moment.”

The One Who Got Away

“Perhaps you know someone whose heart clutches onto the bittersweet memory of the one who got away. Someone who secretly bears the weight of this imperceptible burden wherever he or she goes, every day of his or her life. Someone who’d gladly travel back in a time machine to a day when paths diverged, to mend together that which has been torn apart, setting destiny back on its rightful track — if only he or she could. Perhaps you know this someone better than you think. And should this someone happen to be you, may you find strength and support in the millions of others who shoulder this burden with you, and may you be reintroduced one day to true love… in this lifetime and whatever comes after.”

The Roller Coaster Ride

“With peaks of joy and valleys of heartache, life is a roller coaster ride that’s both scary and exciting at the same time, the rise and fall of which defines our journey.”

Perception

“Oh, and one more thing: If I try something that I’ve never done before, something that’s particularly difficult for me, and it doesn’t work out, that doesn’t make it a failure. The fact that I actually succeeded in finishing it makes it a huge success. Think of all the people who never even try…”

The Gift We Give to Others

“I wasn’t perfect, and I made mistakes; but I learned from them and became a better person for it. I always followed my heart. And most of all, I loved — with every ounce of my being. I guess you could say the greatest love story ever written isn’t confined to the pages of a book. It’s in our lives; and we’re the ones who write it. So that’s what life’s all about, isn’t it? Why we’re here. It has nothing to do with dollars. In fact, it’s totally free. Life’s greatest gift. And the best part is, the best part, this gift we give to others… we get it back. It’s what makes the journey so worthwhile… it’s LOVE.”

King of the Pond

“As I lay there watching Robin sleep beside me, I realized that she was right all along. I didn’t need to live in a castle — a shack in the woods with her would do just fine. And for that matter, I didn’t need to be prince of the ocean either, because with her by my side… I was king of the pond.”

All That Really Matters

“I guess what I’m really trying to tell you is… we loved each other’s souls, and as long as we had each other, we were happy. And in the end, that’s all that really matters.”

More Than Words

“More than words, her warm eyes speak volumes to my soul, and I know I’m loved.”

The Journey

“Now that I’ve started this journey, I can’t see what lies ahead on this unfamiliar road, but I know one thing for sure: when I look behind, I see the things that I’ve accomplished… and I smile with pride.”

Destiny or Chance?

‘So is it destiny…’ I ask, turning around in the elevator, ‘the way our lives turn out in the end… or is it chance?’

Josh looks directly into my eyes. ‘What do you think?’

‘I’m not sure… but something tells me we just might make our own destiny in life.’

Josh smiles approvingly as the doors begin to shut in front of me.

‘Hey Noah…’

I press a button, and the doors open again.

‘I’ll be here if you need me,’ he states reassuringly.

‘Yeah. Somehow I always knew,’ I say, nodding my head with a subtle smile, feeling as if I’ve known him my whole life. ‘I just never admitted it… until now.’

‘I Remember — I Love You’

‘You remember?’ he asked incredulously. ‘What could you possibly remember?’ he demanded, staring at her, waiting for the answer.

The beauty from within her soul shined brightly through her loving eyes as she looked deep into Noah’s now melting eyes.

‘I remember — I love you,’ she said in a soft voice, nervously biting her lip.

The Three Reasons

‘How about I give you three reasons? Morning, day, and night.’

Her eyes narrowed.

‘Stay… so every morning when I open my eyes, you’ll be the first thing I see. Stay… so every day when I’m with you, I can show you all over again exactly how much you mean to me. And stay… so every night when you lay your head down next to mine, you’ll know… you’ll know just how much you’re loved.’

Her eyes drifted to the water as she thought for a moment, returning to look deep into Noah’s eyes. ‘Okay, Noah… I’ll stay.’
