“I recommend this book to everyone!!!”

★★★★★ Sand Dollar
“Sand Dollar is a romantic love story with a few twists and turns. An eighty year old man named Noah is on his death bed as he reflects back on his life and tells the story of his soul mate, Robin.
I loved this book! The author did a great job on the plot and the characters. I felt for each character in the book, and at times I hated each character. I understand why Robin did some of the things she did based on her condition but I found her very frustrating at times. I thought Noah was a very beautiful person and I felt very bad for him throughout the book. The book itself was very well written.
I really enjoyed Sand Dollar and gave it a 5/5. I look forward to reading more books by Sebastian Cole in the future. The cover of the book is also very beautiful.
I recommend this book to everyone!!!” — Brittany Schneider

A love that goes beyond all beyonds
Posted on August 09, 2013
★★★★
“At the end of the book, the author mentioned that the story is true, though how it will pan out in real life is yet unknown. This ultra-romantic love story spans decades in the lives of all the characters. It demonstrates that love can withstand the test of time, even go beyond it. If I have one critique, it’s that the breaks in time were not clearly defined. The book indeed played out like a screenplay, as the author himself mentioned, since it’s a dream to see this story on film. Other than that, all I can say to the real-life Noah is that yours is a love beyond all beyonds; and for that I give it to you.” — NenetteU

Sand Dollar: A Story of Undying Love, by Sebastian Cole, is regularly $2.99 but has been discounted 67% to just $0.99 today in the Amazon Kindle store, and this book has received an average user rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars based on 105 customer reviews – I’ve added this one to my Kindle to read!
Category: Romance / Fantasy
“It has it all…mystery, romance, history, love and hate.”
Here is the book’s description from the Amazon website:
Noah Hartman, eighty years old, lies sick in a hospital bed recounting his life of love and loss to Josh, a wise and compassionate orderly who stopped in to bring him dinner. As Noah’s loved ones arrive one by one to see him, they listen in on his story, and we’re transported back in time to Noah’s younger years.
Though outwardly seeming to have it all, Noah, now thirty-five, is actually an empty, lost, and broken man running on automatic pilot. He has no true identity due to having allowed his powerful, wealthy parents to manipulate, control, and brainwash him from a young age. With the threat of disinheritance and withholding love and approval if he doesn’t comply with the plan they have for his life, Noah is lured in by the reward of great wealth and the illusion of running the family business empire some day. In truth, however, Noah is like a regular, everyday guy living a life that was not meant for him.
Enter Robin, twenty-five years old, who — in direct contrast to Noah — is a vivacious, free spirit. Full of life and always living in the moment, Robin’s love saves Noah by inspiring him to stand up to his parents and live his own life at all costs, reclaiming his true self.
While snorkeling in the Caribbean, the captain of the boat warns them not to disturb anything in the sea. Ignoring the exhortation, Noah dives down and snags a sand dollar from the ocean floor, whereupon it explodes in his hand. With the fragile sand dollar taking on new significance, Robin inexplicably leaves Noah shortly after returning from their vacation. Like a passing breeze, she disappears out of his life without a trace, seemingly forever.
Years pass, and Noah still can’t get her out of his mind and out of his heart. After all, she’d always be the one who got away, the one he loved the most. That’s when he finds out about her hidden secret, an underlying condition responsible for her departure. Noah has no choice but to move on with his life without her, meeting Sarah at the premiere of SAND DOLLAR, the movie he wrote about his time with Robin.
Years later, it’s Noah and Sarah’s wedding day, and Robin discovers a clue that Noah had surreptitiously sent her, inspiring her to race to the wedding to try to stop it. With the wedding in shambles, the scene jumps back to present day, with both Robin and Sarah placed in Noah’s hospital room. But which one did he choose?
Things are definitely not as they appear as Noah discovers a far greater truth about the past, present, and future. As Noah finishes telling his story, we are brought up to present day, where the pieces of a shattered love are put back together in the remarkable final chapter of his life.

“It is an amazing story about love, disappointment, and the human spirit.”
Posted on July 25, 2013
★★★★★ AN AMAZING LOVE STORY!
“This book was recommended to me by my husband who told me that Sabastian Cole was a local author who wrote in the style of one of my favorite authors, Nicholas Sparks. I read the book during my flight to Alaska and found it to be an amazing story about two people who found each other against incredible odds and were meant to be together. The undying love that Noah, the main character, had for his soul mate, Robin, was unfathomable. As I read the book, I kept thinking to myself that I would have given up and moved on with my life. However, as all great love stories are told, Noah never gave up. It is an amazing story about love, disappointment, and the human spirit. I found myself unable to put it down! This a a MUST READ!!!!!!!” — soulgirl

Not your average love story

*** SPOILER ALERT ***
“First of all, I’d like to thank Sebastian for sharing this book with me and allowing me the opportunity to read and critique it. I wanted to wait a week or so before reviewing so that I could allow a little time for the story to marinate in my head. Sometimes I find that by waiting, I realize the book affects me more than I realized at the time I finished reading it. That’s the case with this one.
In all honesty, I really couldn’t stand Robin for the majority of the book. She was selfish and extremely high-maintenance. Yes, high-maintenance seems like the wrong word to use here considering she had almost no money and didn’t seem to expect a lot of material things, however, I felt like she was just NEVER happy with what she had. Come to find out, she had a disorder that caused a majority of this so I came to forgive some of her misgivings as the story came to a close, but she still wore me out a lot while reading.
Noah’s character, on the other hand, was much stronger and easier to love. He tried everything he could to prove to Robin his “undying love” and he had a true honesty about him. Even when he was with Sarah, he was completely up front about who he was and how he felt.
What made me appreciate this book was actually less the love story and more Noah’s relationship with his family (and then of course the end but I’ll get there in a minute). For one, I loved Noah’s bond with his brother. I felt like that was something that Sebastian could not fake. They were there for each other through thick and thin and could truly understand each other. Also, the pressure Noah received from his family and the expectations to marry “a good Jewish girl” were very realistic. Having been exposed to many of these expectations (and having had friends be the Shiksa), I felt like I could actually hear the words coming out of Noah’s mother’s mouth. All of the family dynamics, though sad, were what I truly appreciated about the story.
Then, there was the end. The end was my favorite part of the book. I loved Josh and how his character was revealed at the end. I think that was the most romantic aspect of the book. I felt like Noah’s path to Heaven (and then Josh moving down the hall and time to listen to Robin’s story as she transitioned to Heaven) was a beautiful way to bring the book together and romanticize death. This part of the story is probably what affected me most and made me truly love this story.”

“As I lay there watching Robin sleep beside me, I realized that she was right all along. I didn’t need to live in a castle — a shack in the woods with her would do just fine. And for that matter, I didn’t need to be prince of the ocean either, because with her by my side… I was king of the pond.”

“Mr. Cole wrote a fantastic first novel that makes you believe in a forever kind of love”
Posted on June 08, 2013
★★★★★ I CHANGED MY MIND…
“Several times while reading this book as to what kind of rating it should have. In the beginning, I really liked it and the characters, but then Noah seemed quite neurotic and Robin seemed like a very wishy-washy kind of woman. But as the story progressed and certain things about Robin’s childhood come to light, then her behavior starts to make sense as well as the influence of an unscrupulous doctor. Mr. Cole wrote a fantastic first novel that makes you believe in a forever kind of love and the possibility of there really being a soulmate out there for those who want one. Definitely worth reading!!!” — J. D. Hale

NOT a typical love story, but a great read!!

“Noah and Robin meet and fall deeply in love, but many things happen that prevents a “happy ever after” life together. Robin has a secret, and Noah is ruled by parents who have their own ideas of how his future should be. This is a wonderful tale that will hold your interest from start to finish. I could not put it down until I finished it. It also has a surprising ending, which explains some of the unusual things that happen in the book. The author has written a great story.”
